Nikki Chooi 's most recent success includes the award for best Canadian competitor at the Quadrennial Montreal International Musical Competition in May 2006. Nikki placed third at the Concertino Prague Chamber music competition.


Swedish-born pianist Susanne Ruberg-Gordon immigrated to Canada in 1991. Susanne is a musician recognized for utmost sensitivity, deep conviction and love for chamber music.

Brothers Michael and Peter Barrett are originally from Corner Brook, Newfoundland & Labrador. Recently singled out as a winner in the ‘New Discovery Competition’, baritone Peter Barrett is one of Canada’s newest faces on the opera and concert stage. Tenor Michael Barrett has performed in numerous stage recitals, oratorios and operas.

Assisting Michael and Peter Barrett is pianist Peter Tiefenbach. On the faculty of the Royal Conservatory, Peter enjoys a lively career as pianist, organist, conductor, composer/arranger, vocal coach, writer and broadcaster.

Founded in 1986 by Artistic Director Jeff Joudrey, this choir performs an extensive repertoire covering all periods and styles. The Halifax Camerata Singers are drawn from across Nova Scotia and have a reputation for performance excellence of the highest standard. Their accompanist is the outstanding pianist, Cynthia Davies.
