Rebecca Caine was born in Toronto and studied at the Guildhall School of Music in London. As a member the Royal Shakespeare Company, she created the role of Cossette in Les Miserables. She later joined the original cast of Phantom of the Opera. Robert Kortgaard, pianist, grew up in Calgary. He is a graduate of the Julliard School in New York and has also studied in England and in Italy. A respected concert pianist, he is also in demand as colleague of world class vocalists. He is the director of the Indian River Festival in P.E.I. These two artists will present a memorable concert!

Todd Yaniw is an exceptional pianist. Remarkably, he received his Associate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto at the age of twelve. Since his debut with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at age thirteen, he has gone on to an amazing career, performing in Toronto, New York and London. Mr. Yaniw, now only 24, seems well launched on what will surely be an impressive career; we welcome him!

DCCA welcomes Duo Cantilena, Sally Wright, flute, and Steven Peacock, classical guitar. Sally Wright is a native of Moncton, N.B., and a graduate in Music from Dalhousie University, The Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London, and Holy Names College, Oakland, California. Steven Peacock, who has wide experience in Canada and the U.K., is based in Fredericton, N.B., where he teaches at UNB and at St. Thomas. A critic wrote of the work of this duo “The spirit of the music was captured perfectly…They are a seamless pair who complement each other very well”.

DCCA welcomes a homegrown success! Nova Voce is Nova Scotia’s Provincial Men’s Choir. Founded in 2004, it has achieved impressive success! Stephen Pederson of the Chronicle Herald wrote: “they astonished me with their opening chord, a sound as soft as velvet and deep as midnight”. Their concerts are always well received. In summer 2012, they will travel to Turin, Italy to sing at the international choral festival, Europa Cantat, as well as in a number of other Italian centers. Artistic Director is Bill Perrot, Associate Artistic Director Bryan Crocker, and accompanist Lynn Pelton. Artistic Director Emeritus is Terry Hurrell, its first director.
