Concert Program (PDF file)

The Aeolian Singers take listeners on a captivating journey with their unequalled sound of vibrant upper voices. Artistic Director Heather Fraser excels in creative programming. The selections consist of largely contemporary repertoire, with a focus on Canadian female composers and touching on current issues and events. Our accompanist is Mary Castello, who is also the staff accompanist for the School of Music at Acadia University in Wolfville.

Since the choir's founding in 1976 by Claire Wall in Dartmouth, the Aeolian Singers have established an enviable reputation for fine choral singing. The choir has toured the UK, Europe and many parts of Canada and received top honours at multiple music festivals. Over the years, they have also performed with Symphony Nova Scotia, and collaborated with many local musicians, singer/songwriters, dancers and storytellers, strengthening community arts connections.

The 2020/2021 season marks the Aeolian’s 45th choir anniversary. Highlights of this year’s plans include our VERITAS project premiering three the newly commissioned choral works in the fall, and a performance for the Dartmouth Community Concert Association in the spring.

We encourage you to stay in touch with the Aeolian Singers. You can join our mailing list to receive periodic newsletters, and visit us at aeoliansingers.ca and on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. New singers are always welcome to audition.
