Fifth Wind
Tara Ehler (harp)
This concert will begin with Youth Performer Tara Ehler. Tara, a grade 11 Student in Chester, NS, is in her ninth year of harp study, having been taught by harpists Cheryl Reid-O’Hagan, Ellen Gibling, and, this year, Alys Howe. She is the winner of the Dr. Walter Kempt prize for best performance of a Canadian composition, and has also been awarded the Wayne Thompson scholarship two years in a row. Tara is also a member of the Traditional Music Ensemble of the Maritime Conservatory, led by flutist Jennifer Publicover, which explores music of many different cultures, performing regularly at various local venues.

Alistair Maksym (piano)
This concert will begin with Youth Performer Alistair Maksym. Alistair (age 18) is an accomplished young multi-genre pianist with experience not only in classical contexts but also in jazz bands, traditional music groups, the funk/rock band The Quadratics, and as a choral accompanist. He studies at the ARCT level at the Maritime Conservatory of Performing Arts under Natalia Pavlovskaia, and is currently working towards a Bachelor's in Engineering at Dalhousie University.
