Andrew Son is 17 years old and is a student at the Halifax Grammar School. He is currently studying the piano with Betty Ro and the violin with Philippe Djokic. He has completed the certificate program requirements from the RCM for ARCT Piano and ARCT Violin. Andrew was the runner-
In 2012 Andrew joined the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and has been its concertmaster since 2013. In February 2015, he was awarded the Lieutenant Governor's Respectful Citizenship Award for demonstrating leadership by enhancing the community with music. In April, 2016, he performed the Liszt Piano Concerto with Nova Sinfonia. This year the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra announced that Andrew was the new NSYO Concerto Competition Winner. He will be performing with the orchestra in November 2016.
